University of Glasgow Admission Requirements

The University of Glasgow admission is at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The admission requirements are slightly different.

At the Undergraduate level, certain requirements must be met for some specific courses. Having a competitive admission process, applicants are expected to possess an extensive range of qualifications.

For certain courses like Community Development, Medicine, Law, Nursing, History and other related courses, the applicants are expected to have an interview. Applicants for Law will as well take the Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT). Whereas, applicants for medical studies are compelled to take the UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT).

Applicants are to send their applications through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). The UCAS is a UK-based organization responsible for the processing of admission applications into British Universities and colleges.

At the postgraduate level, the University of Glasgow offers Research Master’s degrees and doctorates. To apply for the University of Glasgow admission for any of these programs, the applicant must possess a master’s degree already. The postgraduate applicant is encouraged to get a supervisor who will supervise him/her before applying.

The applicants are expected to possess at least a second class honours (Upper division) at the undergraduate level. The tuition fee, just like in other universities, depends on the course or program that the student intends to study. The tuition fee for undergraduate studies differs from that of postgraduate studies.

The University has performed impressively in world ranking since its inception. Currently, in 2021 it is ranked 14th in the Times University Guide and 12th in the Guardian University Guide.

In Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University rankings 2011, it was ranked 59 in the world. This ranking improved in 2012 and 2013 respectively, as it came 54th and 51st in these years respectively.
